At Home Care by Callos, the health and well-being of our caregivers, patients, and employees remains a top priority. We know that the emergence and spread of the coronavirus, COVID-19 has disrupted the lives of people across the world.
Our top priority remains to keep everyone we work with safe and healthy, and keep patient services maintained with the least disruption possible. We are following CDC, Ohio Department of Health, and the Ohio Department of Aging directions closely and all of our policies and procedures are in compliance with their guidelines.
During this time, we at Home Care by Callos are committed to a Healthy Workforce and service delivery continuity.
For Caregivers
As a valued team member of Home Care by Callos, your health and well-being are a top priority. Please review the following:
- Please remain vigilant about washing hands for 20-seconds, covering your mouth when sneezing and coughing, disinfect surfaces, avoid unnecessary contact like shaking hands, and stay home when sick.
- If you are experiencing flu or cold-related respiratory symptoms,
or believe you may have come into contact with someone who has contracted COVID-19,
we request for you to contact your healthcare provider and contact your branch
immediately. Your healthcare provider, with guidance from the CDC and the Ohio
Department of Health, will give you direction on when it is appropriate to
return to work.
- We recommend using telemedicine if possible, which includes nurse phone lines and virtual/online appointments.
- If you believe you may have been exposed to or contracted COVID-19, we encourage you to discuss affordable testing options with your healthcare provider. Insurance companies may cover some or all of the test, and many hospital networks are also offering free or low-cost testing options.
- In the event you are experiencing the above noted symptoms or have been diagnosed with COVID-19, please notify your branch immediately.
- In the event your current employment is affected due to COVID-19, Home Care by Callos will make all efforts to assist you in finding a new employment opportunity.
For Patients
Home Care by Callos is taking measures to ensure the continuity of your care and the safety of all of our people as we navigate the circumstances surrounding COVID-19.
- We have already implemented measures with guidance from the CDC, Ohio Department of Health, and Ohio Department of Aging to ensure a healthy work environment including: making hand sanitizer and gloves readily available, encouraging social distancing, reducing house to house visits and phone supervisory visits conducted by the nurses.
- We also recommend following all CDC guidelines for making your home as safe and healthy as possible. You can find more information here: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/downloads/workplace-school-and-home-guidance.pdf
- We are encouraging caregivers and branch employees to stay home if they are feeling ill and for employees and clients to disclose to Home Care by Callos if they have flu-like symptoms or have been diagnosed or directly exposed to COVID-19.
- We are actively screening all caregivers and patients to ensure they have not exhibited signs of COVID-19, nor have come into contact with anyone who may have contracted COVID-19.
For Branch Employees
In addition to the CDC recommendations, Home Care by Callos is taking additional steps to prioritize the health of all Home Care by Callos branch employees. Beginning today and running through March 31, 2020, we will take the following precautions:
- If any Nesco Nation employee is experiencing flu or cold-related respiratory symptoms, or believe they may have come into contact with someone who has contracted COVID-19, we request them to work from home. We simply ask for you to discuss your plans with your direct supervisor in these situations and to consult your healthcare provider before returning to the office.
- Home Care by Callos is temporarily halting all non-essential business travel. We encourage the use of video conferencing and other online collaboration tools to carry out daily business where possible.
- Training that is typically delivered in-person at our National Training Center will be moved to an online platform.
- We recommend using telemedicine if possible, which includes nurse phone lines and virtual/online appointments.
